29 Nov BTI Nº 250
After the summer there are a number of dates on the international trade show calendar that are important for our sector due to the proximity of the countries and their relevance to our markets.
In September, SAFETY EXPO was the leading trade show for the Italian market, with safety in the workplace being covered far more extensively than fire safety.
Reused powder has enjoyed considerable growth in the Italian market and is now a key product there.
At the beginning of November it was the turn of EXPO PROTECTION, the industry’s trade show in France, where once again safety in the workplace accounted for approximately 75% of the exhibition area.
This trade show clearly has the backing of the major French fire extinguisher manufacturers who attended it and, while it is true that the issue of recycling/reuse was covered within the context of the 2030 Agenda, it did not appear to hold as much weight as it does in the Italian market.
This leads us to the following question: does adapting to European recycling requirements without controlling the quality of the recycled components not seem more like a box-ticking exercise than an effort to promote the improvements offered by the circular economy?
Recycling and optimising existing resources are now a reality and a necessity, so we should get down to work and identify the best way to do this and determine how the quality and safety of the resulting products are to be monitored. Good intentions are one thing, but without a quality standard to determine what is optimal and what is not, we are on shaky ground.
We would like to take this opportunity to inform you that, due to the Christmas holidays and maintenance work, our production unit will be closed from 23 December to 3 January (both inclusive).
We kindly ask you to plan your orders accordingly.
